A Movement to Serve

Not Just Consume

Following Jesus leads us to be servants to those around us and to engage others with the hope that is in Him. While Jesus calls us to live this out in our personal lives, as a church, we also desire to mobilize our body to collectively share the grace of Christ with the Ohio University community and the city of Athens. This is the heart of H2O Athens's mission: to proclaim the gospel through our love of God and our love of Athens.

Some of our serving opportunities include evangelism on campus, serving pancakes on Friday nights, handing out coffee on campus, and serving with Good Works to provide meals for families in need within the Athens community. You can sign up for our current serving events here.

If you are interested in current volunteer opportunities, please contact Paper PlaneBryan.

We always like to take our best step forward and to give new students the best impression of our campus community. Please consider volunteering for a time slot to help pass out freezer pops and engage with students and parents as they visit the OU campus this summer for orientation.

To bring one of our Sunday services to realization, it takes many people serving on these teams to make it happen.

    • First Impressions Team (FIT): Creating a warm and inviting environment for Sunday Morning Service to help people feel comfortable and connect with the message.
    • Production Team: Learning to accomplish the set up, tear down, and operation of audio and lighting equipment to make Christ seen and heard. Our production team is also responsible for implementing visual media including song lyrics, teaching notes and announcements for our services.
    • Prayer Team: Meeting before church on Sundays to intercede in prayer on behalf of our church, our campus, and our world.

If you are interested in being a part of our Worship Team, please take a moment to fill out the application so that we can connect with you. Once you complete the application, we will be in contact with you if there is need for your position and to set up an audition.

We are looking for volunteers who have a heart and a mindset to be a part of a supportive, administrative network and are detailed orientated. We are also looking for hardworking, creative volunteers who have a heart to serve in the planning, set up, and execution of our events.

We love and value student leadership within our church. One of the many ways students can serve and lead within our church is by leading our student groups. This position is one we take very seriously in our church. Students interested in leadership will need to submit an application, complete an interview, and agree to a code of ethics.

If you are interested in group leadership you can contact Paper Plane  Josh McPheron
